Target Audience:  5th-12th Grade Teachers Any Subject Area

Are you looking for a way to transform your teaching with technology? It’s time we gave students the knowledge, skills and behaviors to responsibly use technology. This session will teach you ways to engage and prepare your students for their future. Throughout the session I’ll give you resources and projects using a variety of applications including: iMovie, GarageBand, iBook Author, Sphero, Makey Makey, Electric Circuits, Web Design, SketchUp, Wood Design, and Coding. We’ll take a look at how I organize my classroom to give students choice and let their voices be heard by authentic audiences. I’ll share all my resources, project planners, and rubrics with you so you can start doing transformational projects with your students too!

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to: 

-Participants will learn simple ways to create a flexible learning environment.

-Participants will learn how to create self-paced projects that use a variety of technology.

-Participants will learn how to incorporate STEAM into any project they already have!

-Participants will learn new ways for their students to hold themselves accountable and set their own deadlines.

-Participants will find ways to give students choice and allow their voices to be heard by an authentic audience.

-Participants will be able to collect a variety of resources; STEAM presentations, project planners, various projects ideas, rubrics and self-assessments
